Transmission Fun The One Thing I Hate
Whelp, it's not the tire or the clutch, that's for sure.

Anything over 50% throttle in second pops into neutral, so thinking detent spring or shift fork.

Here we ****ing go....


Anyone want to buy a rocket? If this in fact the drum/fork issue, I'm done with R3s, no excuse, none, for a bike as meticulously maintainedas mine with only 5000 miles to have this issue.

Best I have found that will ship here is Revzilla, and they are **** expensive.

After a bit of reading, I'm confident it's the 2nd gear output gear being worn prematurely.
 
Well knowing what the problem is is a start on fixing it, so that's a good thing.

I'd be a bit leery of non-Max Excedra's myself. That's what the Touring shipped with originally and they generally shredded due to the torque, they had to recall and go with Metzelers. Of course, I'm not at all sure that today's Excedra in a 240 has anything to do with yesterday's Excedra in 180. And the Max is of course an entirely different thing.

OK so fix it if its the detent spring its not a big deal
 
Do you think that quick shifter you have installed on the bike caused the damage?
