Anyone want to buy a rocket? If this in fact the drum/fork issue, I'm done with R3s, no excuse, none, for a bike as meticulously maintainedas mine with only 5000 miles to have this issue.
Well knowing what the problem is is a start on fixing it, so that's a good thing.
I'd be a bit leery of non-Max Excedra's myself. That's what the Touring shipped with originally and they generally shredded due to the torque, they had to recall and go with Metzelers. Of course, I'm not at all sure that today's Excedra in a 240 has anything to do with yesterday's Excedra in 180. And the Max is of course an entirely different thing.
I was having a lot of traction issues with the Metzler. I put an Avon Cobra and no more issues. Now I have an issue keeping the front wheel on
the ground.
