MY EAT TOOK A **** AND ITTURNED OUT TO BE (SORry caps) a little pastic thing in the pipe going out replaced the pipe and plastic valve and all was fine.

By a strange happenstance, I ended up with a warranty for the van about five years after I bought it. So for a blistering $250, they are replacing it. This is a real problem for them because about a year ago, the oil cooler blew and the engine seized sitting at a red light. Never going to buy a Chrysler 3.6 v6 again.

Wow, you only have 2 kinds of luck, bad and worse, I hope things get better.

They say, "remember, it's one down and the rest is up" but clearly they never considered crashing Its been one of those last 6 months where everything went exceptionally well so something was bound to happen. Just didnt think it was going to be this expensive.

Just drop the sump and post a pic of the shrapnel. The difference between chewed bearings and gear teeth is pretty obvious.

In either case I'll hazard a rebuild will be cheaper (and presumably more reliable) than sourcing a used engine. New cases alone were around $10k AUD a few years back and a full input/output cluster was $4k ish

Well, this gave me a heart attack at work today when the severe storms came through. Had it parked there for some time with no issues, but apparently, it was the day that the dirt became soft. No damage, but I was mad at work all day, assuming the worst.

I got it upright and now have tomorrow off. Going to try to get around to it tomorrow and see how bad it really is.

Helpful hint: never leave your bike cover on in high winds.

I am impressed by the rotation, terrified by how violent that must have been, and curious how high the winds were to cause that?!? I had something similar to my Vstrom when someone hit it in the parking lot, but crash bars and a rear crash cage go a long way.

55 or 60 mph, and yes, crash bars worked, not a mark on it, believe it or not
