Is it my imagination but are the R3 TORS shorter than the stock OEM silencers (excluding the tips) ???

I read in the past that they are different length.

So if it's too loud with all 3, put the oem on the left hand side.

Still too loud? TOR on left, two OEM on right.

Putting one regular pipe on the RH side with a TOR and a TOR on the LH side sounds like a good idea if #3 TOR's are to loud.

But there are 2 separate tunes for the Fuel injection with or without TORS. So one of the jugs is not getting the proper tune ( the one with the regular stock silencer). Just doesn't seem like a good idea if you want your bike to run at it's peak.

It isn't a 3-into-3 system. It's 3-into-1-into-3, so all the cylinders share equally in the exhaust characteristics. 1/3 TOR is close to normal tune. 2/3 TOR is close to TOR, or you could dial-up a custom tune with Tuneboy.

OK I'll buy that, but would the same hold true if you have the cat bypass installed ?

The Cat bypass is still a central box with all three mufflers hooked to it, that the exhausts dumps into. So it is still a 3 into 1 into 3 system.

I got the cat bypass with stock pipes. Had it running with the stock tune and had no problems. As a matter of fact it started and ran better then after I got this 385 tune put on.

I wouldn't worry if the tune is not 100% what it should be. It's fuel injected and the ECU compensates for different changes.

RoadVenture is right. Pretty much all but custom exhaust options for the Rocket are 3 into 1 into whatever so fuel mapping per cylinder need not be considered.

However, about the fuel injection system compensating for changes - Rook is right but only up to a point. Factory tunes are usually rich to be safe so small changes like switching to catbypass from empty catbox won't hurt without retuning, but bigger changes like using a catbypass from full catbox or going to TORs and catbypass from stock will open exhaust flow a lot more and mapping will need to be retuned to avoid damage to the engine.

Even if the bike feels like it is running ok doesn't mean it is running right. Lean running will produce a hotter running engine which you may or may not notice and the damage done to the valves, head and plugs may not be noticeable until doing quite a few miles.
