Maybe if I spend a summer on the 245/50 F1 I'll appreciate the 225/55 more.

DONT any of the DARK siders ever DYNO your bikes if your going to change your tire why not DYNO before and after the install ??
 
I should have known who'd revive this old thread!

About 1600 miles on the Toyo now and me likee. It shows zero wear. I am slasmming through the twisties now with semi-reckless abandon and the compound really hooks to the road like the tire and the pavement are made of velcro!

Even Art (IFT) said it was "rideable" after he took it on a short jog. From him, that is a glowing endorsement., though it is a lead pipe cinch bet that you'll never see him running a square tire.
 
Bad handling

HEY PHIL you know what I think and it aint good I think its the worst thing you could do to a perfectly good handling motorcycle IT makes my MAX feel like a MOTO GP bike your right ILL never use one it totally destroys the handling and all I can say is BE CAREFUL
 
As you know, Art, I have no problems with the handling, whatsoever. It is what it is! I feel very strongly that I would have to be alot more careful running a MT generally, except for the greater tendency for the CTs grabbing a bad seam in the road or getting off track due to excessive road camber.

Again, anyone desiring optimal tracking and steering should stay with the MT. If you want better traction and stability, way better hook up, much longer tire life, lower cost and some additional road shock absorption, the right CT will make you happy, that is, if you can adjust to the different feel and required additional input and countersteer.

IFT, you are just are just a stodgy, old school, performance junkie!
