Always felt the same way as youse, BUT age does strange things to you.
Now I run panniers and windshield on long rides and use a GPS.
What a Pus*y I be!

Whatever suits. I like naked pragmatic minimalism. IE: Improved ergos/comfort, better horn, lighting(if riding a-lot at night), GPS is almost without saying, and possibly Adventure-bike style handguards for cold weather. The below is on my wish list for Prudence.

I have a set of these BarkBusters Blizzard for commuting during winter on my GS500F. They work real good.

I would prefer mine mostly naked for aesthetic purposes, I'm not big on a lot of extra frivilous crap. But for me, the windscreen is a necessity...and the floorboards have also spoiled me. I would like to get a spare solo seat and switch out occasionally...

Having said that, I have no qualms about loading up with bags for an extended ride and camping trip...a quick-release system for the bags would be nice.

looks are kind of important (that said don't care about what others say about looks. my bike my likes are what matters)BUT function over looks to a certain degree looks don't get you there and back ,if I need all the bells and whistles I will take wifes car(if I get permission)or my truck.old school don't fit in youre pockets or bags it gets left behind.kind of let down ,woke up smart the other day knowing how to change pic from robot to my plate but no one noticed

I have a set of these BarkBusters Blizzard for commuting during winter on my GS500F. They work real good.

Had some of those on an SR500 (Yam single) in the 80's that I would ride in any weather. They were very effective. As long as they are easy to take off when you don't need them.

Exactly! Load up with any amount of stuff when going on a trip, but strip it right back after.
Had to buy a pair of chrome rear mudguard (fender) covers on eBay to take the pillion backrest off without it leaving a gap. Was looking at single seat too, but the gel seat it came with is such a luxury. Enjoyed the highway pegs at first, but here in England the roads are narrow and filtering between slow traffic with a spike sticking out each side did not help.
