To bike or not to bike, this is the question

As much as I'd like a Diavel I've made my choice I want something that I can ride to work everyday good on fuel and tires good in the twists and still relatively fun to ride and not a big deal to clean
So I have decided on the Triumph street triple r in the not too distant future to keep the rocket company in the shed

It is more than "relatively fun to ride"...it's a blast!
It is fantastic in the twisties...loves to pop wheelies...

I've even loaded it and done a 2 week camping/hiking/riding trip with it.

When i had my rocket in for a service they lent me one same colour as yours but without the belly pan and screen and i really enjoyed riding it
its a completely different bike from the rocket obviously but very nimble and fun to ride
with enough power to have some fun
great bike:cool:

Fully agree here, my son has a street triple and it really is great fun. I also had one on loan when the rocket was in for service, bike of the year over here in UK 2 yrs in succession & very well deserved. However I have today picked up my second bike, Finally decided on the Kawasaki ZZR1400 in US the Ninja ZX-14, only done a few miles today on a new rear tyre in wet conditions beyond belief but handled well & the power is unbelievable, but the rocket remains the "dogs do dah's" & will always be mine where as the ZZR will likely be changed every year or so but it really is a fantastic ride.:D:D:D

Mate of mine has a Daytona 675. I couldn't ride it for too long and still be able to walk at the end of it but it's a very nimble little gadget. Amount of torque is what realy surprises me. Pulls from low down and really flies at the top end of the range.

even though the daytona is the same engine and frame as the street triple your a little more upright on the streety than the daytona
mate of mine had an older 675 daytona and just traded it in on the 2011 streety for that reason he reckons its much more comfy on his old wrists

Exactly...I rode a friend's Daytona 675 a few years back...lots of fun but ergonomically impossible for me to ride very long. I said then that if I could only get that engine in a more relaxed riding position I would find it hard to resist. I resisted the first year out but when the R model came out that was it for me.

The bike is a "do more with less" deal...there are bigger and faster sporties but in the really tight twisties it's the nimbleness not the power that counts most.

Well put. The engine's pretty amazing. Must try a Steety one day. "Do more with less" - I like that.

I agree about that low end torque on the street triple, it really is an incredible bike, I would have got one but there's already one in the garage so seems a little daft to get another. The ZZR is a slightly more sensible riding position to the all out sports bikes & if I need them there are 1" bar risers available which would help a bit. At 90MPH & over, the wind holds you up & the ride becomes very comfortable, of course the licence may not last long if doing that all the time. Not going far on it anyway 1hour out & 1hour in,with plenty of coffee, stops that's about the limit, after that out comes the rocket & "Blue Boy" takes over.
