Hello my guru friends, i have a question;
Can a rear tire be mounted in the front? I just bought a Kawasaki klx300sm, the tires i want are weird, originally it comes with street tires, i wanted dual sports but keeping the same size due to height issues. The tires i wanted i found in UK, i went ahead and ordered them. When i went to check the specs, they both say REAR. On one of my bikes, the tires are the same design but the front one goes facing backwards.
After checking the thread design, i see no difference or any indication that it may cause a problem, most of the riding on the 300 will be low speed and my off road skills in the 1 to 10 scale are a solid 2. do you guys see anything that may keep me from installing this tire in the front?
Thanks in advance!!
And for nothing, running a rear on the front but reversing it was the original “Darkside” long before it referred to the lunacy of putting a car tyres on a motorcycle.
How are you Lupe?
Yes, run it reversed (to the direction stamped into it) for a rear on the front is what I've read many times. Dunno that it matters so much for dirt bike tire though, it's more for the way water is displaced on a road tire that you run it backwards.
Shouldn't make any difference at all on that tread style. The old ones never had directional stamps. I'd even rotate them front to back if the same size.
