hello you rocketeers hello,

what do you think about this system for monitoring the tire pressures and temperature, with audible alarm.
want to buy it, looks great and a secure driving tool ........

this is the model for being fixed :

can be used with GARMIN GPS 390LM also :

thanks for info.

Nice idea, but I don't like the keychain bit. Think I'd rather have something fixed to the cluster a bit more permanent and hard wired for power and lighting.

Never felt the need.. check the pressures before any serious ride, & serious deflations ( AKA punctures)on the road are pretty obvious from the feel of the bike.

Wow, 210 Euros.

Looks like a good system, and I'd certainly like one - just a bit surprised by the price.

If you get one - don't forget top give us a review.

also I am asking myself what could be the repercussions or problems with the wheel balancing ....
we have to be aware the valves are not straight right up but curved a 70 °, so the mass/weight ( 10 g. ) of that sensor on the valve must have some influence I suppose ???
Would really like to have that on the bike but first I want and will look for more information ! :reading:

I believe there's a system that mounts inside around the wheel which would likely be more accurate and certainly eliminate your balancing concerns since the wheel would have to be balanced once the tire is over the sensor anyway.

yes you are right, this should be a much better system but I think more expensive .... I will look for that further ...
also more complicated as you have to take the tire off or doing it when changing the tire after 8.000 km. .....
I do not trust very much the SMARTCAP system .... don't really know why .....
but doesn't it have the same balancing problems ( this is 14 grams ! ) as the one I speak about ??

I have the Ride-on Smartcap ( http://www.ride-on.com/smartcap ) on mine just for ease of verifying at a glance. They have been on since last spring, I will see if they are blinking once the snow melts and the cover comes off.

oh yes, ok you have that system !
can you tell us about how that works out with the balancing of the tire/wheel ??
the sensor is 14 grams weight and on one side of the wheel, not in the middle axe, so how does it behave ? :?::???:
the sensor of my system ( lol ) weights 10 grams ....
