Welcome Ranger. T'bird is a great bike but the Rocket has more going for it than just the extra hp. There's a big difference in how much wind hits you on a Rocket. I find that on a T'Bird I feel like I'm going to be blown off whereas a Rocket gives you inherently more protection thanks to the 2 headlights, twin gauges and enormous tank. Good to have you join us.

ps I ride in the rain too. Just gotta be very careful with the right hand. ;)

Welcome Ranger

Ranger welcome aboard. I understand why you fell for the new Roadster with the striping. I rode up to a new Triumph Dealership located in Manassas Virginia yesterday and there was a satin black model on the floor with white stripes. That is a **** fine looking bike. I always swore I would never get rid of my 2005 Fat Bottom Girl, but I was really tempted. Post some shots when you get the beast home....

Saying goodbye to the Storm tomorrow and hello to the Roadster next weekend. In the meantime my little Speedmaster is gonna have to step up to the plate.

Gotta trip to London for a weekend with the boys, Wembley (the Wall Concert) and Ace Cafe - 3 Rocket Roadsters and 2 T'birds will make for a great sight around London town. Early Sunday morning raid to beat the traffic.

Thanks again for the welcome.

Welcome Ranger!
You have entered the best Triumph forum on the planet.
Note that under the heading "Forums" you will find a "Rocket III Roadster" forum specific to your new motor.

I would like to know the widths and spacing of those stripes on the front and rear fenders and the fuel tank. They all look different and I'm considering a new paint job with those stripes on my 2012 R3R.
Best Regards,
1olbull
PS: Remember if the erection lasts longer than 12 hours to call your doctor!

Howdy

After 50,000 miles and 18 countries on Thunderbird/Storm over the past 4 years I have made the leap. Pick up a new Roadster with red pinstripe next weekend.

Thunderbirds are brilliant but the Roadster fits my gangly frame and the extra 50 ponies are bound to help justify the pulled trigger!

Useful forum!
not to mention a heap more torque ;)
Congrats on the new beast and welcome

Thanks again for the welcome.

They've closed off some streets to motorcycles near the Ace Cafe - not sure of the full story but apparently too many wheelie kings drawing big crowds.
