Thunderbike bar owners 05 and older

Anyone here who has the Thunderbike bars and has an 05 or older model. How did you get the top clamp tightened down. Obviously with how the bars are made you can not tilt the gauges forward far enough to get to the bolts to tighten down the top clamp. It looks like you can knock out the pins and get the gauges separated from the top clamp, but I am afraid of scratching the **** out of my top clamp. Any advice guys?

Got them mounted, just tightened down the bolts tight and pulled really really hard and got the bars where I wanted them. These bars are tough looking. Really beefy on the bike and it looks like they were made for the Rocket. I will get some pics posted up here soon. I still need to put the grips on and measure the clutch adjustment and take it for a ride, but they feel really good sitting on the bike.
