The Three Sisters, aka The Twisted Sisters

I am interested in attending and meeting you all. Although I am afraid I will be the odd duck riding a fully stock, zero mods R3R.
I would be one of the riders at the back of the pack on these roads!
I rode the Sisters a couple of years ago on my Tiger 800, but have not done that level of twisty/hilly on the R3R.

My challenges to being able to commit are:
  • No luggage on my 100% stock '14 R3R (yet)
    • I actully have a kit and some bags from Viking but the install looks to be beyond my capability; I will need to get it out again and see if I could attempt it.
  • No Windshield / screen - This would be essential for me to have a enjoyable longer distance ride; esp if we get a cold snap and some rain that weekend. But the new ones are way out of my budget.
    • Anyone know of a good deal on a used kit that would fit a '14 Roadster?
  • Lodging - I would be interested in splitting a 2 BR / 2 BA cabin with someone arriving Thursday, departing Sunday.

Nothing at all wrong with a fully stock, zero mod Rocket. That's faster than most H'D's that will be there & it's certainly not a race. There should be a comfortable zone in the pack that everyone would fit into....
work out your saddle bag mounting & if no windshield wear a full face lid :D

Do you want me to add you to the maybe list?

Go to Crigslist and find a cheap set of throw over saddlebags, you can find them as cheap as $50.00, i have done it a few times, if they work one time they paid for themselves, full lid and, cheap rain gear from walmart, $10.00 just in case and problem solved:)

RAIN GEAR?!?!?!?

Got caught in one of those the other day, with an iPad tucked in my shirt, my personal iPhone in my right pocket, work iPhone in my left pocket and a half helmet. That's a terrible ride.

Helped me make up my mind to go the PCv + AT route with the map switch accessory for having a spare map loaded for low power situations like rain.

You're not very far from Leaky. Throw a change of drawers in a back pack and come on down. I made my first trip to Maggie Valley on a bone stock roadster. If you make it to Leaky you might get to see what it looks like now :D

Grab a cheap tail bag, cheap tank bag and a cheap backpack. Pretty much the same thing I am coming from Houston with, though I also have EZ Brackets and small Saddleman bags.

You just need to get your stuff to wherever you are staying, then leave it in the room while doing the group rides.
