I ain't scareed. I kinda like them ponies anyway. Might have to be careful, but thats a given anyway.
Hope they have fun and enjoy their gathering as much as I intend to enjoy ours.
Alrighty...
My dad decided he didn't want to take the RV or his wife .
So, we're gonna be staying at the hotel with the rest of y'all.
If anyone is riding up through atlanta, let me know.
I'm on exit 212 on I-75. Right off the interstate if anyone wants to meet up there and ride up there together.
...Hellbender 28 is a great riding road but not a lot of scenic pull off's. but the lake in fontana is beautiful and the fontana Dam is something to see.
Perhaps on the return from the dragon on saturday we could continue on 129 to robbinsville pick up 143 to 28 this will keep us from returning the same way we can. Just a thought I love to ride the hellbender so twice is fine with me...
You've already said that The Dragon has no scenic overlooks. That's disappointing. Now you say the Hellbender also has no scenic overlooks. I was suggesting, because neithe east nor west bound across the Dragon has no overlooks, that the wall (uphill side) on the right side would be a preferred route. Then followed by the Hellbender east bound. Again you say no pull offs or scenic overlooks on the east bound, right side?

If your dad wants to trailer his ride and relax in the back seat of our four wheeler from Atlanta to MV we certainly will be traveling through that area en route. Amy doesn't do long trips on the Beast. Amy's sister is just north of ATL and we'll likely stop-in the night before and leave after Friday breakfast for MV. Either he or you could trailer up a beast at Sheryl and Sam's (Amy's people) Friday morning and we'll be off and running. We can consider switching off one beast for another along the ways, over the 5 hours to MV. I can imagine we'll be at The Holiday right at check out/in time.
The Holiday Motel's suggestion of having the BBQ on Sunday, due to Mother's Day, is a better idea. And J'Arthur's on Saturday is right in my mind; though that is often questionable I'm all for the all-you can eat BBQ. I'd hate to scrounge for a second helping
Lots of places could do the patch. Good seamstress maybe. Heard of a few when I lived in Phoenix but out here on the islands I don't know. Anyone in a large city or town may be able to find one.
If not, The Holiday has said they MAY be able to arrange the same price elsewhere in the near vicinity. And, SidecarFlip has said he and his will be across the street at a lesser rate.
Quite frankly, The Holiday has been making every effort to make OUR stay Memorable. I ain't gonna bail for across the street. And I ain't holdin anything against anyone for shopping around. And if YOU and others join in for a breakfast, the BBQ and a ride together that there's nothing that can separate The RAAIV Captains.
I've a feeling this will be a STANDARD to meet in the many RAA rendezvous to come.
Now there's an idea. I like vest pins; "RAAIV Captain". Now if Flipper could come up with a product...in two months. I'll have S/N #1 issue thank you very much
