I am a huge proponent of conspicuity on two wheels. The best line of products across the board for headlit and taillight modulators, as well as for automatic signal cancellation is the Kisan line. I have used all of the product types mentioned above on my two previous bikes and they make a few other products with different functions that also could be of interest to some of you.

I have read that the headlight modulating products are illegal in England and in some other countries. Is that true also for taillight modulators? Even if that is the case there may be a way around the taillight regs with Kisan's newly redesigned SignalMinder. It has a run-turn-brake controller built in now, so that you can wire it in such a way that your four directional signals will pulse rapidly for 2 and a half seconds when you apply your brake(s), said function being overidden if you activate a directional signal.. Additionally that unit can be wired so that your four directionals operate as full-time running lights (at half intensity and also overridden when signalling a tuirn), as well as four-way emergency flashers (two different light pattern modes available) and of course the unit automatically cancels your turn signals after an operator-selected, predetermined number of flashes.

I am leaving on vacation tomorrow, but have already spoken with Kisan's owner who does offer group buy programs with discounts from 20-25% based on the number of participants. The company might also consider becoming a site sponsor here, but that is a different subject for a different day based on our new owner's needs and wants.

For now I'd like to gauge the level of interest from members of this wonderful community to see if it merits putting this together. Please indicate your interest on this thread and what, if any product(s) you might be interested in. After I return on the 24th of this month, I will follow-up and get this organized, if the interest is sufficient.

Take a look at these excellent and potentially life-saving products:

It is illegal in the UK for a front light to modulate, or to show any front light other than a white light (headlight, sidelight, spotlights). Turn signals must be orange and must not be constant.

It is also illegal to show any constant light at the rear other than a red light. Again, turn signals must be orange, and not constant.

I think that rules us out.

The signalMinder sounds good to me since I'm absent minded sometimes. It's a bit pricey though (even with the discount).

I rode with some guy on a Harley last Sunday. He had a tailight that flashed back and forth like a Sylon from Battlestar Galactica. I soooooo wanted to shoot out that tailight. I had to pass him or face going to jail.

Thanks for the response, gents. As stated above, I'll follow up upon my return from vacation.

I'm surprised that Great Britain and other countries prohibit the use of running lights on motorcycles. That function is optional with the Signalminder, so if there's some interest and if the price is right, our friends over the pond might still gain some benefit from it or some of Kisan's other offerings.

I'm looking to add the pathBlazer, tailBlazer and signalMinder to my ride.

I feel your pain  That thing was annoying!

The tailBlazer flashes the brakelight 5 times rapidly and then two quick taps for a total of 4 seconds and then goes to a steady state. I can understand te headlight modulator being annoying, but not that.

I, too, would be interested in the Signal Minder. I ain't that old yet, but...my only salvation is when I ride with others, they're always chiming into my Chatterbox headset, "YOUR TURN SIGNAL!!!"
