This story is sad and true. I don't understand how someone could be so trusting.
A fellow posted his bike up for sale. Someone came and wanted to buy the bike but wanted to take a test ride. The seller even borrowed the buyer a helmet for the test ride.
Buyer took off and hasnt been seen again.
Poor seller.You can't trust anyone.
Sad state of affairs.
 
****... Sorry to hear... :( Most folks won't let you take a test ride unless you hand them cash first.

This happened in rural Canada. Not a big city. People are still pretty trusting.
I grew up in a time where you didnt lock the front door and many people left the keys in the car. Can't live like that anymore
 
Always ask for potential buyers drivers license or cash as a collateral and then maybe let him/her go for a test drive. Not a 100% guarantee but better this than sorry.

Not nice to read about these kind of things.
 
It happened to me, year's ago when I was leaving England to emigrate to Canada. I let an arse@#$% test ride my BSA. He never returned. The bike was found several days later wrecked in a ditch. No test riders now without security.
 
The power of hindsight is a wonderful thing and I really feel for your mate ! This says far more about him than the ******* that took his trust in fellow man for granted .
It really grinds my gears that another trusting and obviously kind person has had their faith in our species shattered !
Shoulda , woulda , coulda don't matter here now ,it's a cruel hard world ! :(
