Sweating to death on my R3T.

Then there is the "premium fuel syndrome" ... you know ......
How you convince yourself that the tank of premium made it go faster, run smoother, able to leap tall buildings and got two more miles to the gallon than every other tank you ever ran in your life.
The "magic water" could have the same effect on the brain as the "magic gas" does.

Is that Acme Magic Water or the more expensive Ace Magic Water?? And who has the best price. Maybe we can get a group buy...

It's the same stuff they use on magic beans .... where does that come from?

i used a laser temp gun before and after and there was a 10-12 deg diffrence withthe same out side temp and humidty but i also changed my oil over to amsoil and a k&p enganiring oil filter !!

I would speculate that there are many variables that could affect the readings you obtained. Just out of curiosity, what kind of oil were you using before you switched to Amsoil? The reason I ask is the factory specified Mobil 1 4T is very close to Amsoil in most test results (I used to be an Amsoil dealer, very familiar with their tests). If however you were running a Dino oil, that could account for some of the difference.

As I said, monitoring the ECU reported temperatures, I could see virtually no change in the different fills. But, there's certainly nothing wrong with Engine Ice. Here in Arizona its a very popular alternative. My dealer seemed to use it for all rad fluid changes.

Compared to my last Harley and Valkyrie, this bike runs cooler than both!

Well I'm currently enjoying the heat off mine. Took a run from Canberra to Sydney on the weekend, returning just after dusk on a night the temp dropped to -5C (I think that's getting down towards 20F). For part of the trip I had my feet back on the pillion pegs which seemed quite a bit warmer on my legs (and a relief on my arse). No screen but for the first time I was starting to wish I had one. Summer will be a different story altogether.

Thats funny......I actually had to delay the purchase of my Rocket by a year because my furnace kicked the bucket in 2007. I had a blue and white classic picked out and was going to add saddlebags. By the time I got ahead of that, Triumph came out with the touring model in 2008. The rest is history.....funny how things work out.

My old 83 Yamaha Venture threw off WAY more heat than my Rocket. I rarely notice the heat anymore. It's all a matter of perspective.

I suppose heat is a relative thing and I also suppose if you install roof shingles for a living, hunt wild animals in the congo or ride a solid rocket booster to work this thread probably doesn't make much sense. What I have seen is that if I remove the windshield and maybe wrap the header I may get some relief for my air conditioned office job booty. Does wrapping the header create any issues?
