in an effort to actually try to give the OP some actual help, here goes:

I replaced the fuel cap assembly with an aftermarket set that doesn't produce the reflection. Found on ebay...

In OPs defense it happens to me as well. I don't have a full face mask, just a 3/4 with a visor but no chin gaurd. I'm also a approximately 6'3". Every now and again the glare gets so bad I have to cover it with something.
