Sturgis 2020

But could/should be their last!?

Plan A - Hit the road in July and spend August in Alaska. COVID crapped on my parade.
Plan B - Hit the road August 5th for Sturgis. House is sold and I believe I can leave and have my lawyer handle the closing but final house projects, shipping delays,
getting the bike and trailer ready took longer than anticipated plus I have landlord responsibilities and still need to get my vehicles and remaining crap into storage = no way.
Plan C - Go to the Black Hills when the above items are finished.

My favorite are the guys who trailer for 1,500+ miles, pull over and unload the bike, and ride the last 100 miles. I often wonder if they later bought one of the tee shirts that says “I rode mine”.

You will also see tons of $Million dollar RV’s paying hundreds of dollars a day to park in VIP sections with full power, sewer, Wi-Fi, TV, private secure entry etc. to avoid the regular biker riffraff.

That last bit is hilarious, isn’t it? You couldn’t pay me to go to Sturgis (well, OK, if you paid me enough), but I thought the whole idea was to BE regular, H-D “lifestyle“ (regardless of what brand you’re on) pirate biker riffraff, get drunk and look at the boobies of women hired by vendors for the purpose of separating the pirates from their plun-darrr! Actually, being a vendor might not be bad, come to think of it.

But what’s the point of going, if you’re going to be hiding out in your DeNiro-caliber motor home?
 
After fifty years of hauling motors around the country . . .
I use the two peg rails tied to the rear and lower triple clamps to the front.
I also safety strap the front wheel to my Condor chock.
Not too much front fork compression in order to allow for some ride jolt suspension.
I would not recommend using the engine guards or the handlebars.

Thanks for the advise. In Las Vegas tonight and will return straps for the haul to Provo in the morning never trailer a rocket before ( or other two wheels). Only tied down quads and UTVs.
