The right side of my bike has had some oily liquid that runs down the bottom area of the motor almost right behind the floor board. Today was the first time I have noticed actually getting to the floor. All of this time it was so minor that even if it was oil it was not noticable on the stick.

Today I removed the seat, side panels, even the plastic covers with the star bits. Could only find the wetness on the right side, it looked like unburned fuel like a SRT-8 I used to have and on that it gets routed back to the intake unless you have a catch can.

I removed the K&N air filter and noticed this same type of fluid was at the bottom of the filter box and filter. I don't know if it is unburned fuel, or just the oil from that filter.

Has anyone else experienced this? It is more annoying than anyting else and my friends tease me saying my bike just wants to be a Harley.

I've seen leakage on mine when it was new, but that was the oil tank - the oil seeped back and dripped off the rear of the engine. The fix was to loosen it slightly, then wiggle it back and forth to make sure the seals were properly seated and then refasten the tank. Not sure if that has anything to do with this, just thought I'd volunteer info on the only leak related info I had. That was obviously on the left side (looking at the bike from the rear), though.

It might be testosterone. Riding mine makes me want to chop down trees and punch squirrels and do other manly stuff.

Maybe just plain old brown trousers time from twisting the throttle? ;)

If the same stuff is in the bottom of the filter box it could be oil coming from the crankcase breather. Don't know just a thought. I remember the mess my Harley used to make if it wet sumped on me after sitting for a few weeks, the oil leaked past the valve in the oil tank. Start it up and about half a litre out the air cleaner. Lovely mess.

On my old G12 650 Matchless if I gave it a bit of a flogging on a hot day (a regular occurrence) the oil would boil and spurt for want of a better word out the tiny hole in the oil tank filler cap, all over the pillions leg if it was one of the infrequent female pillions it was a bitter end to the motorcycling date and planned seduction to follow, the joys of early British motor cycle owner ship.
