Still not starting in cold whether. Anyone have idea what I can try next.

I have been using a speed cell lithium ferrous battery along with the Scorpion 320 CCA battery on my beast since may of 2011 and the batteries have been holding up well.

I agree on thicker cables since you have to take them loose just to clean I pulled mine out and took them to the local shop so they could make up a set identical with thicker cables. That being said I have not really had to much of a starter problem since then but have continued on looking at other weak spots. When I changed the motor on mine I noticed the contacts were in ruff condition and speculate this is where the I heard a click and then nothing comes from.
Below is pictures of another area I would pay attention to for loss of current. I figure no matter how much juice you have on a bike if it can not get to where it is needed things might not function well

Not that cleaning and filling/Emory paper the area won't help some

I did change my motor but not because I thought it would help the starter problem but because I figured I loose a little power on the starter turning the blower over with all the other added goodies. Anyway they were so cheap and easy to change why not.

I'm not going to come out and say the starter is the only thing to replace but I will say that, in my case, it was the one thing that I can say made the most difference.

I'm not a fan of the "carpet bomb" approach to fixing things. If you change five things at once, and it works, you'll never know which was the fix. As a result, I took quite some time and made one change at a time. That's how I know it was the starter that made the biggest difference. I now run with a single Yuasa battery with no issues. The starter is such an inexpensive, and quick, fix I see no reason not to do it.

Whatever you end up doing, I wish you luck. I know, all too well, how it feels to have a beast in the garage that won't wake up.

Today I went to my mechanic, explained the problem and the possible solutions shown in this post and another's. He will phone triumph dealer in Barcelona to ask some questions, but he thinks replacing the negative battery cable will make the difference. If this not works, in Barcelona is not habitual to have temps below 50, we will try to find a starter that works, but is not as easy like on the states.

I have never been able to start my rocket in cold weather, i gave up and quit trying, now i just let thje weather get warm, no problem, i just ride my harley in the mean timeattachFull24551

This is crazy. All you need is more cranking power. Replace the anemic ground cable, replace the **** stock battery and fly!

I seem to recall reading the starter motor is 1500 watts, or more powerful than the combustion engine on the first ever Triumph. Since amps is watts divided by voltage, that means 125 amps. So stands to reason there needs to be thick cabling and a powerful battery.

FOR what it is worth.
i have had trouble for a long time the engine just would not crank fast enough so i had to give it a shot if starting fluid.
yesterday i installed the motor part of the 17610 starter. i did not remove the starter from the bike. i have the bypass pipes on my 07 so i just removed the two long bolts and the nut and switched the motors. (would recommend a mechanic to do this)
this morning it made about three revs then started right up. ALRIGHT
I have an extra ground wire i think i will in stall later. and maybe rebuild the solenoid
