Here's a link to my thread about the starter... The information is definitely in here, and I can attest that the starter motor that I've replaced mine with works nicely, once the battery actually has enough juice to turn it.

Its more that just swapping starters, the gear needs to be changed, you need the triumph starter repair kit off ebay, parts in that kit you need. Look up starter replacement in search box, starter upgrade stuff like that, massive amounts of info that will assist in this change.

the trick is to put the nose of the original starter nose on the Toyota starter with out letting the starter parts separate.

Hey guys, I need a little advise. I did a starter swap with a Toyota starter unit. Swapped the gear box directly on to the new motor/solenoid, trimmed the push rod by 1 1/16". It all feels good and when together easy. But all I get when I hit the starter button is 1 click. The solenoid is not engaging the starter motor. Plus it's a new battery. I am getting 11.68V to the solenoid. Any ideas what to check next????
