I just replaced the starter solenoid contacts today, 45 minute job. I had issues a year ago with clicking but no engagement. I had taken the solenoid apart and filed the copper contacts and ring for a temporary fix, lasted almost a year. I ordered the repair kit last week from the UK, 'REPAIRKITSUK', thru ebay, and got it done today. There must be loads of current needed as the copper was really pitted. At least this is a good garage repair, rather pay myself then the shop.

Good to know it won't be too bad if I ever need to do it! What year and mileage you got...mine's an 07 and haven't (knock on wood) had any issues!

Can you provide the link to the one you got?
I looked and there is a lot of different starters that these guys supply for.

Cheers

My 05 has 34K miles, I have done the Eastern Beaver mod so the clicking was easy to solve.
I used the ebay search, http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-5...0001&campid=5335943355&icep_item=251285690761, which led me to the vender. I agree, they list autos only on the home page, so their selling the Rocket kit is just another application. Glad they do, it seemed very cost effective, under $30 USD with shipping, and a very easy, straight forward repair.
