OK have read about some issues with the starter relay on some of the R3T models. I have rebuilt the fuel system and went to try the bike and when I hit the start switch I get kind of a single clank from the starter and then nothing. I have to recycle the key to get to that point. I am charging up the battery again to make sure I have enough juice but read a few things about the starter relay as well and wanted to know if this sounds like the symptoms of it needing replacement.

Thanks

I'm there will be someone along any minute to offer a more comprehensive set of suggestions, but my initial thoughts on your symptoms are that:
1/ Make sure your battery has the cranking power in it.
2/ If the starter has enough power given to it to engage the flywheel and the battery is good then maybe it isn't the starter relay but the starter itself.
3/ Check the earth is good
4/ Yep could still be the starter relay that's defective.

no
probably just not charged enough
you can try to jump start with car that has a good battery. even that may not work if the bat is too low on the bike
keep us posted.

You guys are right on track. I just had to top the battery off and she got up and started running. Am so stoked, this bike has not run in over 2 years and she finally came to life tonight. Thanks in advance for the help.
