Starter issues

I am going to say that there are about a hundred starting problems so we have to get technical with our words in order to diagnose this problem.
Are you holding down the starter button while this is doing the thing in the video?
What is the volts when this stops cranking and then does the 2nd crank?
Yes holding down button the whole time, volts only shifts down to about to 12.6-12.8 when cranking

I think that something is wrong in the cables from bat to starter
Did you remove the negative ground strap while working on it and is it on tight?
I am thinking that maybe hook jumper neg near starter (maybe bolt) and pos to pos bat at starter and try to start.

I'll check it tomorrow while still waiting on the starter

He's probably referring to the solenoid rebuild kit. Where all the power transfers. Check the contacts and the contact surfaces on the plunger. Or take the new plunger out of the starter you robbed the motor off of and shorten the spring rod.
If you're going to try cleaning the contact area with the original starter motor check and clean the motor brushes.
those were the items that come in that kit i was referring to.

New starter but still same problem, even took out the crank position sensor, little oil on the case but still no result! I'm starting to suspect that there is oil somewhere where its not supposed to be, but at this point I have no idea

i guess if it were me my next step (you probably don't have one) is to put a starter meter one the positive cables and read the current draw. on the rocket that should be about 150 amps.
the next thing you can do is remove the right side cover and short across the female connector from female # 30 to female # 87 with key and kill switch on the starter should
start cranking and not stop till you remove the jumper. this will eliminate all safetys like clutch switch, starter button, neutral light. so make sure it is in neutral or the bike is going for aa ride.
this will narrow it down to starter or voltage problem.

$After changing the cam chain and valve adjustment$ have you done a compression test? After changing camchain and valve adjustment? And what stroke did you put cams in alignment at tdc? Easy to bend a valve on these NON interference motors im learning the hard way!

Good starter good battery, problem after doing a cam chain, im gonna bet problem is under door #1, a compression test will say if valves are ok but it still matters what stroke you lined up cams on, see post Need help 08 r3t wont start. Claviger nailed it on where to set tdc
