Just curious, have you tried this: Take the connections off the Battery and leave for a little ,now reconnect.

Yep, left the battery disconnected for about 15 min over the weekend. No change. Thanks for the suggestion though. Not far from installing a Dakota Digital unit. Great instructions on this site for the install.
