Well i was thinking maybe Normandy beaches plenty of history not to far and raise a glass to fallen could be done in a weekend or extended.Or maybe nice little tea room in Dartmoor that sells tea with a large brandy in it have to be a stop over of course for some pixie spotting with the infamous pixie hunter.Or we could just spend the weekend going to triumph dealers getting test rides on the new rocket and see if we can get a reduced price it we buy in bulk and find out if @Nat67 is to big for the new r3

Had a quick google around the area...good choice! This is the area my Mother in Law owned the house..30 miles south of the beaches...bloody woman's buggered up that plan!

Depending on how many people are going you can rent a whole house some up to 12 guests on air BnB, just about anywhere get enough of us could cost less than £100 a head for a weekend.Then you got a base to organise some ride outs from.Don't know what the interest would be for something like that just putting it out there

Good idea. Anything that helps to keep the costs down is a bonus to all. Never used Air BnB personally and have heard a few bad stories...

Used them several times when away on the bike always had a good experience and stayed at some really cool places. Have only ever booked for max 4 people though.

Good enough for me! Lets bandy a few dates and around see who might be intersted in going to the D-Day beaches. Working out costings should be fairly easy too

Just a quick workin out for accomodation Fri to mon and shuttle crossing between £170 to £200 per person for UK location could probably rent a castle for that money depending on numbers

If we did we could probably rent the town use to collect engines in Bridgend for ford many years ago take them to Saarbruken in Germany use to be a pub just outside main entrance thursday night was disco night always there on a thursday night

Ferry from Portsmouth sounds cool prices not bad eitherSounds like you could do with a nice weekend away with a few mates on your bike to get over your terrible ordeal
