Something else that's not allowed

I see that they have an unhealthy interest in rear reflectors. Sounds to me like if that is all they have to do, you have far too many police on the public dole. Are not there enough drug dealers, bank robbers and general bad guys to go around?

See what happens ? You take the guns away and the cops have nothing to do but f_ck with motorcyclists

Speed allowance here is 10% bare minimum, on the interstate, I've passed radar setups at 80 mph in a 65, cop never moved, over 80, you will get a ticket. The little towns where a 35 mph zone pops up in a 55 mph zone is where you really have to watch it, it's a big revenue stream for these towns. If you are convicted of speeding, the state gets most of the money, so the racket is to reduce it to a parking ticket, they do it wholesale, unless you have a terrible record, you pay a $150 fine, but you get no points and they keep all the money, win/win for both parties.

rear facing reflectors .. I haven't even got a number plate light on my Rocket. May have to look into that for WA rego.. bikes (and our humble belongings) will be in Albany next week I hope.

The first thing I did when I got my new Rocket home was take it off. Stupid looking reflector hanging down under the number plate. Held on with two 10ml nuts I thought you were meant to take it off. Did that, moved the rego label from the bottom corner of the number plate where the dealer put it. I new that was not allowed been done for that before. Then I moved the plate up hard against the number plate light and cut the bracket off with a five inch grinder. But not before I hung an oily rag over the indicator so the direct shower of sparks didn't harm the lense. The resulting fire nearly destroyed my brand new motorcycle, shed and contents. Never a dull moment in my workshop. Any way back to the stupid reflector I wonder if I can get away with two small one's stuck in each bottom corner of the number plate?

I think I'll go out and look at my bike for a while. Just because I can.
Couldn't resist that T.C. hope your bikes and gear turn up soon in the same condition they were in when you last saw them.

Removalists did a ***cin awesome job of loading our 20 foot container. The effort they took to make sure everything was packed in right was great. I'll be surprised if anything is damaged , and if it is it will probably be my packing not theirs. My bike trailer was right up the front of the box with a bike on either side of the drawbar. KT Muller Removals , offices in Brissy and Perth .. 10 out of 10 from me.

Fine payments in most states now got to State Revenue and there are private enterprise involved. So yes, in Australia they have created a industry. Politicians beat their chests by saying that they have taken on an extra 400 Police and the like to solve crime while the existing police and police unions argue about wages and who is going to work Sundays and public holidays for the extra money. Then they go and sit on the roadside or hide in bushes with cameras to pay for it all in vehicles with custom $15,000 paint jobs. Spoke to a couple of cops at the Superbikes and asked how they liked the job, reply was easy money and they walked off.

I have lived in Germany for well over two decades,,,the polizei are ok , never been hassled without due cause , always treated with respect . Not so the good ol US of A , get tazered , pepper sprayed and shot cos your reflector was missing

will red reflector tape somewhere on the rear get you legal, Bruce

Far as I can tell it just has to be a red rearward facing red reflector. Don't know how big it has to be The cop that was defecting bikes for not having one probably doesn't now either just that all bikes should have one. A bike cop told a few of us that our indicator bulbs must be at least 300millimeters apart. Checked out the new style Honda posty bikes, bulbs are about 200 millimeters apart and the same on a new Kawasaki sports bike I saw the other day. Mabey they (the cops) make it up as they go. How about the bikes that got defected for having rego labels on the back instead of on the lefthand side. There doing away with labels all together in October this year.
