Something Broke ( gonna make more powerful 220hp coming up)

It's not super intuitive the way that thing goes together... the first time I took it apart was a bit of scary trial and error with the 20 ton press. Being less adverse to reading the manual helps me too, almost every time.

Another good vote for a properly set up quickshifter though... it definately reduces lash/stress between gear changes.

OK, now I see what happened. It's odd that the gear would walk towards the spring
Depending on the direction of rotation, that could be the thrust loading from the gears themselves... helical gears are incredibly strong for a given engagement/tooth depth, the downside being that they develop thrust forces parallel to the shaft that try to slide the gears apart.

It couldn’t slide the gears on my input and output shafts, theyre spirloced and won that battle (i hope)

if the gears are locked (for lack of better word) on the shaft then the force will be transfered to the shaft and/or what ever bearing will take a beating.

And its back in! Gonna button it on up and go for a ride. @Nashvegas i got bored, thanks again for your help dropping it out, big help. lets go racin! ( when we wont cook)

Going big! Gonna be best dyno run yet, if it holds another torture session.
