I suspect that NCY will not let me return this bucket solo seat, if that is the case I will be offering it up for sale along with the rear fender bib that will be here Tuesday. I thought when I got the rubber plug out where the optional backrest would go I would like it better but I don't. Anyone that might be interested please let me know.

Since there was no interest I dropped it off at my local seat covering shop and hopefully my thoughts and their hands will correct these design flaws.:D

That will do it, Big E. Search the forums and you'll see I've done it to TWO of my stock Triumph seats, with varying success.

The stock 2-up seat turned out well. It's the most comfortable seat I own, albeit a wee ugly. Take a gander at the attached photos of my Blue Marshmallow.

The solo seat, however, just isn't comfortable. It's probably worse now than when I got it (and it was tough to sit on for 200-500 miles then). I don't know what I'm going to do with that.

I've experimented with different foams and seating designs but it just sux.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Yeah they fail to tell you the solo pushes you up on the tank and sits up higher. He called today asking about a mod, I gave him the green light. He wanted to cut my stock two up seat but I said no. He is using it for a model because I like the riding postion of that seat. I may send to it to Russell Day Long in the winter.

The Blue Monster looks cool!

Well here is what I started with:

Here is what I ended up with and it rides great. I highly reccomend this change if you are over 6'3" tall and do not like riding on the tank:

Well rode the big rat 300+ miles today and seat mods are fantastic. For any of you big guys out there that would like to sit back on the solo, I would highly reccomend this mod.

Looks great. How much did it end up costing?

I've had 3 seats modded so far with varying results at varying costs.

the seat was $227 from NCY, the mod was another $85. Basically they took a hot tool and melted the backrest attachment into a glob on the bottom and then cut it out. They then refoamed with harder foam and recovered.

I had to turn some measurements to Sagebrush fender bibs for that bib, I think it even turned out well.
