**SOLD** 2005 Rocket III

I know what you mean. I sold my 1500 Goldwing to buy the Rocket. The GW was very comfy for her with the armrests, 4 speaker sound system and intercom.

I told the wife we sold her Bark o Lounger for a Bar Stool. We spent all kinds of money on the back seat for her. Nothing is as good as that old GW back seat.

Posting here first. Got this not long ago and installed new cam chain and cam chain guides, adjusted valve clearance, new plugs, oil change, and new Samco hoses. Has a Jardine exhaust. Also wired in Eastern Beaver relay kit for headlights. Only issue is the ignition is wired with a flip switch instead of a key. Has the Corbin bags and fairing in good shape. It is in very good condition, shifts runs perfectly. Ride it home, no problem. Looking to get $4000 for it, which is all I have in it. Not looking for a profit. Will go to Craigslist if no interest.

Nice Ride! Good luck selling her. If I had space and didn't want to jeopardize my wife's happiness, I would seriously consider it.

Hi. That output shaft engine cover looks like it came from an upgrade/update kit as it doesn't match the main engine.
Can you confirm that with previous owner?
If the bike did get the entire update that would be a good selling point for those 'in the know'.

The previous owner knew nothing about the bike. I wouldn't know if the update kit was installed.

The touring model Rocket is more comfortable (I've owned both). Using a long haul Triumph seat and mounting a H-D style tour pak with back rest makes the Touter much more comfortable for the passenger. The Tourer with the long haul seat already is the most comfortable bike for the rider (at least for me) 5'10" 190lb. I also installed the bar risers which help also (my arm length is 32"). I realize the wing has many more options, but they are two totally different animals. Once I got used to the torque of this motor nothing else satisfies. Even the 1600 beamer wasn't comfortable to me. If I did't already own 2 R3s I'd buy your bike. I would anyway, but I'd probably be living alone. Good luck with selling (which shouldn't be a problem) and finding a replacement.

I gotta say you guys have sharp eyes. I worked in the bike for a month, and didn't notice the output shaft cover is different. It is definitely not the original one, so I am guessing there was some work on the bearing in there. It does shift really nice, so maybe the update kit was installed. Can't verify that.

Take your VIN number and call Triumph. They can look in their system and see if it was done by a dealer.
