Slightly Disappointed In My New J. W. Speaker Evo 2

The Speaker pics within the above posted PDF file look identical to my beam pattern.

Not only that, but this is the first thorough comparison I've read where Truck Lites out perform the Speakers.

Bear in mind those are NOT EVO-2 Speakers. But I've often recommended Truck-Lites. I have a 7" Truck-Lite in my 1979 Guzzi.

What you are seeing is called the "chevron". It angles to the right because we drive on the right side of the road. I'm guessing you have watched videos of our motorcycle specific lights (like the 8790 Adaptive). Those lights have a symmetrical pattern as they are only intended for use on bikes. The light you bought can be used on anything with a 7 inch round headlight, like a Jeep Wrangler for example.

I like how these look. It gives the beast a touch of modernity. I dropped the fogs in today.

What if any adapters are needed to fit the JW Speaker in the housing? what plugs are needed? What brand are the driving lights/adapters or plugs?

All legal and approved headlights have a side. On a normal right-hand drive vehicle, the left hand side of the low beam is supposed to dip on the left. This is to control glare for on-coming motorists.

In other words, that dip to the left is both normal and legally required. The US SAE standard is apparently a bit less strict about this, but a low beam that dips on the left is 100% normal and correct. Every headlight should have it, and you'll see the same on normal halogen headlights.

It's not there on the high beam, because you're not supposed to use the high beam to blind other motorists, thus it can put as much light both left and right when you're going down an empty road.

In other words, you're complaining about a legally required feature, not a bug.

Open the housing, detach the clips holding in the original reflector, put the Speaker reflector in, replace the clips, plug the light into the H4 coupler and close the bucket. 5 minute job. Tools required 1 screwdriver. Same thing with the fogs, except the fogs require some connectors. I just snipped the original cables going to the cheapo fogs that are on there stock and used Posilocks to connect them.

The driving lights here appear to be JW Speaker 6045.

Sorely disapointed with my 7" 8700 in the Touring. Took it out. Halogen back in.
