Rocket III Touring
I just bought a 2008 rocket touring in February. It had 18,000 miles on it and is in great shape. Its an amazing bike, I can't say enough about it. I'm 6'8" 270lbs and feel comfortable on this bike. ALL Harleys are too small for me. Anyway, I've noticed that the engine block is sweating a bit and that i have a small dot of oil wherever i park the bike. My oil level is fine (i just changed it) and the bike is performing fine however the spot really bothers me.

-Is the transmission on this bike inside the engine casing and if so does it take transmission fluid?

-How worried should i be about this drip?

Where is the oil dripping from? What is the engine sweating? It would be helpful if you went to the (Introduce Yourself) section and put your information there including location this helps other members to assist .

I just set up my account this morning to ask this question. i added a location a few minutes ago. It's definitely oil dripping. Its coming from the rear part of the engine but its hard tell exactly where.

G'day Emerson ,the transmission and engine share the same oil, some Rockets have had problems with porous castings in the engine block ,I would thoroughly clean the engine and then run it to spot exactly where it is coming from.

Great. Thats exactly what i wanted to know: if the engine and transmission had same oil. Thanks a lot.
