I got a oem sissybar off eBay, new in package and I go to put it on and after I get all the bolts tight I step back to look at it and the luggage rack on the sissybar is not straight with the bike at all. I tried installing again and it appears to be the same. Bike has never been wrecked. Anyone else ever have this problem, it any clue what I'm doing wrong?

There is no adjustment on mine at all, and it is as straight as an arrow. I cant see you installing it wrong 'cos there is only one way. Are you sure the item wasn't damaged when you got it?

Post a picture so we can see the problem,,

I will have to get a pic tomorrow. I looked closely at the chrome and see no hairline cracks. I will have to reexamine tomorrow also. I gave up for tonite before I broke something.

Well I tried remounting all the hardwear and still the middle of the luggage rack looks crooked. I give up. I might just cover it with leather and call it good.

On the side stand my rack sometimes looks like it's not straight, even if I tilt my head, but it's just an optical illusion. I'm getting the postage quote on the backrest this morning and will let you know.

I've got that "misalignment" problem with my 25" Clearview windscreen. No matter what I do (adjust the fitting kit or adjust the frame holding the shield) I can't get the right side of the windscreen to line up symmetrically with the left side; it always looks like it's slightly warped to the rear; on the right side.

Extremely aggravating.

Willtill,
I will agree with you that it is extremely aggrivating. I think my little plan to cover it up should work good and it will provide a nice leather non-slick surface if I care a bag or anything back there.
I have spent enough time on it though, I am going to just have to live with knowing that it is crooked, or appears crooked to me.
