Seriously Considering an R3!

I had a 08 Fat Bob. Saw a Rocket and it got my attention so I took one for a test drive. The rocket did everything better except for one thing. The Rocket rode smother, sounded better (in my opinion), was certainly faster, stopped quicker, was more comfortable. The only thing the Fat Bob did better was that it had a shorter turning radius. I sold my Fat Bob and bought a Rocket. I have never regretted it. My Rocket has become even more enjoyable to me over time.

Thanks for the warm welcomes!! Business has me rather busy this week but I'm going to sneak over to Tampa ASAP.

I don't really have to sell the Fatbob in order to buy an R3. I really like the Fatbob because it's very minamalistic and easy to keep clean. For a Harley, it's pretty nimble and handles nice. It's a great bike to zip around town and run errands. I only put about 3500 miles on it so it's like new. I'd probably use the R3 for longer, weekend trips like to the Keys and Daytona. After a while, if I find myself not riding the Fatbob as I expect, I'd part with it later.

After some thought and considering how much garage space I have, I think I'll put the Fatbob on the market and use the funds to pay for the R3. I think I should be close as far as what I can get for the 09 Fatbob VS what the new R3 goes for. I need to do some reseach and see what I can get for the Harley. It's like new, VERY low miles, stage one kit, intake and 2 into 1 exhaust if anyone is interested :p

I sold my '01 Road Glide to buy my Rocket.. The only problem is that the Rocket does depreciate quicker than your Fat Bob. If I still had my Road Glide, I could probably still sell it for what I got for it in 2005. I know I can't get the same amount for my Rocket if I were to sell it..

That's the only issue though. I like my Rocket alot. I consider selling it from time to time, but then I take it for a good ride and ask myself "Why?".. lol So it's not goin' nowhere right now.. :)

After riding the R3's, I can't bring myself to worry about the depreciation. I'll take a hit on the Fatbob but the R3 smiles will be worth it!!!

i have ridden harleys for the past 30yrs and soon as i rode a rocket i new which i liked. the 02 roadking is going on the market in spring, there's no contest. i really don't need to sell it but it just won't get used. a big percentage of r3 owners over here are ex-harley men. i've had mine 6 months now and i'm still grinning and so are my two riding buddies cos they've just got one each this week. you won't regret it!
