Are you sure , Ride it when you can. we are all busy people but Rocket men never say never.I hope you dont do it.

think it over for a while nick, even if you don't use it that often it 's always good to have there when you want to go for a blast.
I agree with the above sentiments. I'm also amazed at how many times I see "I just don't use it enough. Better sell it to someone who'll use it for what it's meant for" in ads for bikes. If you're making monthly payments on it then I could see saying this as each payment would seem like a waste but if it's already paid off be honest... you're selling it because you would like the money for something else. I mean, are you really concerned with how lonely or neglected the bike feels? People who have really expensive boats sometimes only use them once or twice a year. Same deal for jet skis, snowmobiles, motorhomes or what have you.

One of the reasons I bought my '05 last year is that it only had 7500 miles on it. If it only has 15,000 in another 7 or 8 years that'll be fine by me. I'll ride it when I can and when I do will enjoy it immensely. The rest of the time I'll admire its beauty as I pass by it in the garage.

If it's paid off I say tell the missus she's wrong and keep your bike... even if you only ride it once a year!

I was in that exact same position last year with my old Beemer. Insurance was sky rocketing (no pun intended) and the amount of time I used it I thought about giving it up. Well, in a roundabout way i did. First of all I found cheaper insurance that was bearable, then i bought a new lid, a Kilo lighter than the Nolan. that was a weight off my mind :) Then somehow or other bought new summer clothing, mesh jacket etc and i was a born again biker. Still one thing niggling though was the sore shoulders after a long ride so decided it had to go. Triumph Birmingham offered me a fair price against the Beast I have now and the rest is history, go out on it as often as I can  .

Think long and hard before you do give up on the beast, don't live to regret your decision but if needs must then thats what you must do.

BTW: my wife is very ambivalent about my bikes, has never stood in my way  sadly, (oops, did I say that out loud?) so her say isn't in the equation but if she tried to stop me i think I'd probably dig my heels in anyway. After all, she didn't consult me over here 3 Mazda MX5's over the years:mad:

Happy biking, hope you keep it, I love mine and no sore shoulders anymore #bonus
