Which regulator do you have - is it the series one (SH847)?

Well the whole point of replacing with the series one is so that it DOESN'T burn out your stator, not to fix something AFTER it fails

There should be no snipping or crimping - just relocate the new one and plug it use original connectors

You might check with @Bedifferent to see if he can make you a bracket for it - Revisiting my SH847 regulator/rectifier mount.
 
Part number on regulator is FH020AA and came with a baggie full of wire, circuit breaker, sockets, and lot's of other connectors, etc.

Then don't bother - wasted your money there I'm afraid, its virtually identical to your original (And it wouldn't have required any of that other stuff either and indeed even fit in the OEM bracket location)
 
Hi guys & gals.

Went into the work shop tonight saw the bike and it's not far from being put back together.

Spoke to the machainc and told me that the Bolt on the inside of the gear selector was loose and not far from coming apart in the gear box.

Said I may have got lucky as it would not have been long before it would have dropped off and possibly gone through the gears.

So he put the new one in from the kit with lock tight to keep it in place.

Also asked if it looked as if anybody had split the motor before he said as far he could tell looked all original gaskets.

Will collect it on Saturday
 

That same bolt was only finger tight in my engine, anybody who has their cases split should remove, thoroughly clean, and Loctite the hell out it ! Triumph probably should have incorporated some type of bend up lock tab, to make sure that bolt couldn't come out. Glad your mechanic didn't have his head in his arse !
 
Well bike is ready to be picked up total cost in NZ dollars $5888.48 nearly half of what I paid for the Rocket.

That's just under $4000 US dollars.

Good job I'm never going to sell it.
 
Great to hear you are back on the road but the price sounds crazy expensive to me..i can buy every component required to build a brand new trans for less than AUD 4k and Triumph dealer here quoted $2k all in for labour to rebuild so $6k all in for an entirely new transmission...i hope you never have to open yours up again!

Found this advertised in Germany - says TECHNOLOGY IDENTICAL TO The Shindengen - But ....... an opinion would be appreciated.
I have given up ordering outside Europe unless I really really have to. Post and Customs are getting out of hand.

If you really want the pukks SH847AA, it SHOULD be available in Europe from Suzuki dealer ............
