Seat Pads m& Cruise Control

Just completed an 1,150 mile weekend trip, and even though I used my AirHawk pad and we stopped at least every couple hours, I still got a pretty sore tailbone. Took a look on the internet this morning and saw something called the "Ortho-Deluxe" seat pad with a cutout for tailbone relief. Looks like it might be the ticket. Just wondering if anybody has used this pad and how it works.

Also, rode my son's Cavalcade for a while and really liked his cruise control. Would appreciate any input as to the best after market cruise control for the Rocket III. (I have an '07 Classic Touring model.)

Picked up a Comfort-Max Ortho Deluxe gel pad from American Motorcycle Specialties (www.amspecialtiesusa.com) and it helps eliminate tail-bone pain. Not cheap (US$140 with shipping) but I think it will be worth it.

Has anyone put a Throttlemeister on their Rocket, and if so, how well does it work?

Best cruise control is a crampbuster. It's a plastic style spring that fits around your throttle. You rest the heel of your hand on it to move the throttle so you don't get the death grip on the throttle for miles! It's about $12 no wiring, no muss, no fuss.
I've got an 08 Rocket III touring and rode 1300 miles in three days with this. device.

Had a crampbuster on my previous bike and it didn't work for me. I'm thinking either a true electronic cruise control or a Throttlemeister. I like the Throttlemeister since it would be easy to instal and wouldn't clutter up the bars, but they're pretty pricey for a mechanaical throttle lock.

Just got back from a 4 day 2100 mile trip on my 2006 Rocket III Classic and have both Throttlemeister and Cramp Buster. The TM is great for straight running and the CB is ideal for the twisties.

Technoguppy: I think the one I got was 18" x 15" with a tailbone cutout. It has a strap that clamps to the stock seat with a velcro strip that holds it in place in addition to the tacky surface on the bottom of the pad. You can take it off in a couple seconds.

Skypig: Thanks for the input oon the TM. I've used the crampbuster and don't really like it. Think I'll try the Throttlemeister. Do you have the standard or heavy size?

Funny you mentioned it, I just got back from a 2500 mile week long trip, last day was over 600 miles, about 11 hours of travel (including stops) and the wrist is still funky from holding the throttle open.. I think the angle of the Touring's handle bars does not help.

Anyhow, I spent the big bucks and got the ThrotleMiester, with the big weights (+ $15) and the black finnish (+ $15).

But, i won't get them on till next week.. Sorry, If you still are looking for the info, I will report.

I know what you mean about the seat, that will take some research.

Just got the Throttlemeister (heavy) from RL Motorcycles. Ordered it on Tuesday and it arrived today (Thursday) - $130 shipping included. Took about ten minutes to install and works like a charm. Looking forward to taking a long ride with no numbness in the right hand.
