To be fair you shouldn't have let em get that bad in the first place! Not sure it was the sea air that messed em up more lack of cleaning.... time to scrub em up may take a while

Looks like you might need to find a spot to mount an anode.

I was thinking that compared to 1980's wheels left near the sea - they were not THAT bad!.

But I agree. Have them professionally stripped back. I did a set of R3 wheels by hand - Not something I intend to repeat.

And whilst not very pretty - Stone-chip paint.

It still gets oxidized. Not technically rust, but still damaging.
