So I don't remember which member posted the idea of saving a radiator cap from falling off... their post addressed what I was worried about secretly. Thank you for posting!

Decided to take the opportunity to secure both my oil and radiator caps. I have used crimping kit for years on various other project and decided this was perfect opportunity here.

So on the radiator cap, it turns out that the plastic mounting point twists off with the aluminum cap and the mounting pin on the cap passes through the plastic ring into the solid metal mount for the actual radiator cap.

If you utilize that metal hole, run the wire inside the plastic ring you can place a long enough wire so you can take off the cap and not affect getting into the radiator.

As for the oil cap, using the bottom screw, it was as simple as making a loop to attach and a loop on the cap. Totally happy with how this turned out and no more worries about a loose cap falling off or getting snagged by someone.

I have added a couple more images of various things I have been doing this winter. I love the 25 Storm, but wished they had left a few more parts silver as the bike has styling that gets hidden by the black.

The iconic double headlights are one thing that should never be hidden, so those got S.S. OEM rings. The turn signals, for some reason in the US, get a 1.5inch spacer added to them (most likely for distance to meet federal rules). Took those out. Painted the center fender, front windshield mounting plates and the backrest frame silver. I know murdered out bikes are a big thing, but I love the silver highlights.

Later this year, I am having both wheels trimmed on their wheel webs to bring back the silver accent as seen in the 22's.

I think I posted about this, but the kickstand pad was a really easy thing. I hate bikes sinking. Instead of the Italian pad (which was out of stock) I went with a generic pad and machines down the base to fit the bike when the stand is retracted.

Last thing, I found, as many others have, a European to US power adapter with USB ports. Makes powering the radar detector and phone so much easier. To keep it from popping out, I ran a bead of black marine rtv on the rubber base (NOT into the socket) to keep it from bouncing out.

Now after the rain and wind end this weekend, Monday appears to be headed for 73°F and sunny...time to ride.

I've done similar to you, but I didn't want to have holes in the cap. (water possibly getting in there) I've utilised the centre recess as a holder. Some epoxy in there & 100lb SS fishing trace wire as the retainer. There is a crimp in the epoxy to give better holding.
You don't want anything sitting much above the level of the cap structure because it hits the dip stick (ask me how I know) but thin wire & bent at 90 degrees works fine.

My cap is actually quite a firm fit, this is just a precaution.

Nice idea. I was considering that but didn't want to get the dipstick... I did coat the back with marine rtv to seal the holes as I realized that might have a small amount of water drip in. You did a nice job on yours!

my radiator cap came with a screw from factory so I have to unscrew it to remove radiator cap

the design of oil cap lock is little odd, if you put it wrong way it will seem that its fit while its not, the oil cap if not put correctly in correct orientation will fall, I also put some orange loctite on the plastic where it touches the oil cap and all is good so far.
