Sad but grateful...

Thanks for all of your kind thoughts and comment fellas. Pretty amazing considering I have only briefly met one of you in person. Cheers, have great day riding R3s and thinking about R3s

sorry for your loss
i can still remember my dad saying "when i am gone you will be the old man"
now i tell my son when i am gone you will be the old man.

Chris, you will ride over the same horizon one day and there he will be. He and you have your best rides yet to come. This post has introduced us to a father we may all admire, and aspire to be, and to a son such as we would all wish to have.

Thanks Mate, for your nice words. Very much appreciated.

I took the last walk from the chapel to the hearse with my dad in May of this year so I'm with ya on the recent loss. He had a big ole' grin when I brought over my BMW K1100LT the first time and I wish he could have seen this rocket, he would have had the same big stupid grin I do from riding it. The first ~12 miles on the bike were from the dealer to the cemetary to visit him.

Your dad sounds like one great guy and just from what you relayed, definitely one that passed on a great tradition and some solid foundations.

Even though they aren't in the saddle here and now, there will be more rides to come.

Ride on brother, ride on.

Thanks @Phalanx your kind words are timely as we are having Dad's service today. My condolences for the loss of your Dad, he sounds like he was a great bloke. My eldest brother rides too, so he understands the connection Dad had with bikes. We will.do a ride together for Dad, I reckon he would be happy with that.

Stay strong today Clay, but don't be afraid to shed a tear, you will never forget this Day so Celebrate his life with your Family and Hug your Brother as I did mine years ago.

I know we do not know one another, however I must say that you are blessed for knowing the man you shared with us. I too have lost a great Father in my life. I will have a prayer tonight with you in mind. May you know you have been loved and cared for by a man that can only be called your Dad. May God Bless you and yours.
