Sad but grateful...

My heart felt condolances to you and the family mate, been 9 years since my Dad left this life and i still remember the sound of his voice.

Clay , sad but grateful says it all. You were lucky to have an old man like the one you had. Pretty sure that as the sadness lessens you'll smile inside every time you are reminded of him.

My condolences for the loss of your Dad, I lost my best mate ,mentor and hero 10 years ago last January and still miss home ,I am lucky to have some old VHS videos of when we still had him,the thing I miss amongst others is when you are with your parents no matter how old you are you still feel young , I did anyway, I try every day to be as good father and grand pop to my family as Dad was, keep him alive in your memories and he will live forever

WOW!!! This thread has certainly touched a collective nerve! 5 pages in one day!

Tis heartwarming to hear of one who has enjoyed a relationship with their father who was their best friend, mentor and father.

I enjoyed such for 49 years and lost mine 20 years ago. He was an Indian dealer and gave me my love for motors from my infancy.

Revel in the good you received, try not to be bitter at your loss, hold your father close to your heart every day!
The feeling of huge loss does NOT go away; but, your appreciation and love for your father shcall grow with the years!
