Well, some of you may remember I replaced the TPS not so long ago and fixed my low idle/stall problem. This weekend I took a trip from Chicago to Columbus, OH to hang out and ride with a few friends - bike ran flawlessly. Got up early yesterday to return, ran about 10 miles to first stop light, downshifted, clutch in and revs dropped to zero, engine dead. (Definitely NOT operator error.) Fired her up and bike ran flawlessly all the way home and again today to work no problems.

WHY???

Can the ECU have a brainfart? just stop communicating with the TPS and Idle Speed Controller? What else could possibly cause this one off issue. I want to blow it off (really!) but my mind won't let it go, so looking for some thoughts, reasons, advice --

Thanks,

Yeah, but what else happened when the engine stopped? Instrument lights? Headlights? Crook (intermittent) ignition switch soldered connection did that to me when it cracked.....

..sometimes mine will stall without warning..only a few though..the last one, I was making a u-turn on a 4 lane highway, one side just recently paved, but not the other..I was easing up onto the newly paved road (bump) in the middle of the u-turn when it did it..****er..my mate behind me went wide and around..a quick hit of the start button kept her going forward..****er..

Mine has done that as well (shut off) at very infrequent times. I attribute it to the great Brit electronics (ghost of Lucas) installed within it and have my expectations adjusted accordingly
