Outstanding write up and advice as usual @warp9.9 my man! Love it!

Very interesting about this low tension side business.

As for fuel filter, I'm fairly certain my setup is factory still and is still inside the fuel tank. (You do have to hold your facial expression in a strange manner to make it happen hahaha ) but it's really a fairly straight forward job. I have been led to believe that inside the fuel filter housing that there is a corse and a fine filter element. The latter is, of course, the most likely culprit for low fuel flow which leads to a low fuel pressure issue, this can make ya bike lean out under load, and can sometimes even kill the pump.

I'll check this low tension stuff today and see what transpires. Going to check out and possibly rewire the fuel pump/level wiring today (as it's short and has been tugged on once or twice). Then I shall turn off data logging on the motec to free up some memory as I had a 30 min convo with a mate in cairns early this morning that's a bit of a wiz kid, and he has seen similar problems due to this.

Looking forward to smoothing it out because she halls some serious ass when it pulls right through clean.

Na I just pay attention when people like Nev post. I bet bones put a walbro gss342 pump in her. Let me know what you find in her.

Hey @Sam I check with Andy and he did upgrade the fuel pump in that beast. I amnot sure what injectors are in it or the programing in the motec. Maybe you have hit the max pulse with ratio of the injectors usually programed to 80%.

If you have the parts about 24 hours start to finish would be my guess. To me it sounds like you have more then a detent spring problem. Sounds like fourth and fifth dogs are in mess or partially engaged. What year Rocket is it?
I have a 2013 and I think this apply to my gearbox , when I load up in 4th or 5th from 2800rpm I feel this jerking/slamming through the footpegs very metallic feel i guess gearbox must be opened to change parts??

REMEMBER the salt will ruin your bike so spray it with a protectant we use LEMON PLEDGE spray it on and dont wipe off the excess let it sit and keep using it to remove the salt when your there it keeps the salt from sticking so spray everything especially under the bike

That could be could be a number of things mate! I would be investigating further and throwing some more information up on here. Maybe worth opening up a thread for the matter. Heaps of knowledge on here, and plenty of members willing to share info!
