What's the worst that could happen ahahahahah I could die I suppose, but at least I'll be a very happy man doing it
Best case in my mind is another catastrphic mechanical failure, I'll just strip it down again, buy a heap of beer, and fix the ****box . It's all made real easy when we have access to so much information on this wonderful forum!!
That's two pissers, having to work on your trans again, and having to be worked on yourself . Sounds like your on the mend ? Will be interested to follow your trans investigation.
Sounds like you and I have had similar issues Sam...I had a circlip wander down the output shaft and the box tried to be in 3rd 4th and 5th all at once. I've got the box back together but i'm a little while away from getting back on the road - and now I'm nervous!
Also, is it weird for 2 blokes to publish that they've had similar problems with a tranny?
I don't know if it was mentioned, but important that the circlip is installed with the sharp side away from the side applying pressure, that's why Carpenter thinks they fail, Triumph seems to install them randomly, when punch comes down to stamp them out, top gets rounded and bottom cuts off sharp.

SO when it comes to assembly do a complete and detailed rebuild and replace any questionable parts while is apart it seems the bikes with undercut transmissions shift and stay in gear and dont round off the DOGS thats the main problem caused by sloppy shifting and DONT STOMP on the shifter like I see a lot of the ROCKET owners doing remember the Rockets are TRQ monsters and can tear up tires and drive train parts if you abuse them SO treat the beast with respect and maintain it using the BEST parts and lubricants and keep the frickin thing clean and all the cables lubed and adjusted correctly TRY LEMON PLEDGE its great stuff and good for lazy sloppy owners LOL
