It is funny how sometimes someone else says what you are thinking, I have Backed of the power many more times on the Rocket when enough was enough than the rare occasion that I have wished for more power ,if 300HP can drag 38 tonne up a mountain then 150 HP can drag my a*** along very nicely. :whitstling:

I agree it's all about Torque, nowadays a "little Cummins" ISx12 will put out around 300hp and 1650 ftlbs of torque ,I can remember when Thermodynes and Maxidynes were not making these figures and a 250 Cummins was a big engine, Diesel power/torque is a different animal to petrol power/torque ,I just wonder how much HP we really need in our Rockets.

Reason why I went with a Cummins over the big 6.4 hemi in my dodge pickup, with the hd suspension I can haul 2200 pounds and tow 18000 pounds at the same time and still get 18 mpg at a steady 65mph. Got to love the torque from a diesel.

As I recall, there was also the small matter of a Neville Lush tune that contributed to that gain - I'd suggest almost all of it. It might have been the same bike but the filter wasn't the only thing changed.

If that was my dyno, the only difference between the before and after run was the Ramair and Nev's tuning

Hopefully mine shall be sent out from OZ tomorrow.
bated breath breathing . . . . . . .
