Rocket III Touring tire recall (USA)

I hope he knows something since it is just a few days old, if for some reason I cant find out anything from him I will call a few other shops its worth a try

Even thought the touring has less HP it certainly has more torque, So typical engineering thought they could get away with a tire already manufactured for bikes in that size. Now they will replace with a tire actually designed for the bike (hopefully).
Triumph will contact us about the recall. Im holding off untill I get a call. Actually I had a message tonight from the dealer but I think that was in response to my online Triumph questionaire I filled out!! One question was did the dealer contact you after you received your bike and they didnt so I was honest. I think thats why I got the call. It doesnt matter to me that they didnt but triumh thinks it is!!!

Here's what I've found out from the dealer regarding the recall. This was an email I received earlier.

"Talking to Triumph the recall is through Bridgestone and they have to build the front tires as both tires will be replaced so they will match. The rears are built and they will build fronts asap. They said there are no plans to tell people to stop riding the bikes as yet.I would ride in a normal fashion and avoid hard acceleration until we get further info."

I now have 2600 miles on my R3T and when I went to my dealer this morning with a printout of the recall the head mechanic told me of the recall before I could say a word. They said they hadn't heard what the defect was so I gave them the flyer with the explanation they lacked. The also said they were told to warn their customer with the recalled tire to not ride the bike. They thought this was for liability. I rode over 700 miles this past two days and all went fine. The dealer said as soon as Triumph tells them their next move we all will be notified. In the meantime I'm riding on free rubber.

Be careful..I noticed my issues when the front tire wobbled between 25-40 mph and the rear appeared to "slip"or "loose"..you will definetly tell that its not right..mine at 4000+ miles...will talk to my dealer(Triumph of Tacoma)tomorrowI replaced mine with Metzlers and now not sure of what remedy will be offered..will keep all posted..thank God I emailed Peter Carleo 2/25 and 3,27 concerning this issue as well as copys sent to TofT.

For future reference (somebody mentioned the Gold Wing rear tire) the rear tire on the two bikes are compared as follows:

Rocket 3T 180/70R-16
Gold Wing 180/60R-16

Peter emailed me back yesterday. I should have new tires, front and rear by the end of the month.

Who is Peter? I sure hope I get my tires before the Maggie Valley trip. I'm just over 5K on my tires. I haven't had any issues and don't anticipate any as I don't ride like a lot of folks. That said, I'd feel better when the new tires are on the bike.
