I've not had dirty fuel or rust issues before on the bike but I like the idea of the larger filter though. Good thinking, when mine is due I will do the same. Thanks.

I got a high volume pump from Lushy, it is 1/2" longer

Rust flakes are introduced via the fuel bowsers mostly from old service stations.

Yeah I know and believe I have seen a few very old servos particularly in Tasmania there were a couple I was bit concerned about but had no choice as in both occasions they were the only ones within range

Keep an old pair of Anne's stockings with you and put the leg/foot bit over the nozzle prior to filling up if you are worried about it.

My tank has an epoxy lining now, I suspect the contamination occurred on one of the early trip to Tas I now fill up at every larger town when down there the couple of suspect servos look like they were built in the 40's or 50's and fairly rundown not to mention didn't appear to get a lot of custom (I wonder why) but as I said I had no choice one of them only had 91 (non ethanol thankfully) or diesel so bad luck for guys running hi compression motors
I also invested in a a filter funnel at local 4x4 shop to take next time, not going to carry a stocking in my pocket if riding with any of you bunch you might get idea's
