Roadster Headlight not impressed

I have only been out on the Roadster two times at night but the headlght does not impress me. It seemd the low beam is too low, it might be the adjustment which I have adjusted now but not tried out yet.

Is there and specification which I can adjust to on the garage wall.

I know my 2008 Harley Sporster had great lights on low and high beam, the Rodster is no where as good so far.

Something seriously wrong if Rocket headlight not better than a Sporty i'd reckon. Now im guessing a Sportster would have a similar headlight to a Dyna ??? Rockets headlights like night and day compared to a Dyna. I just had my headlights off the bike, went out with an allen key and a ring spanner and found an unlit road late one night... easy.

Mine was like that when I first got it. Had to mess around with the bracket, don't like the arrangement?

I adjusted them a couple of times to get them good. Now everybody tells me they are blinding... I love them, can see really well.

I do think it's all in the adjustment, i will do an on the road adjustment at night.

Is the relay mod necessary on the late models?

R3 headlights do indeed have a poor high and low beam pattern. If the high beam is adjusted properly the low beam is too low, adjust the low beam and the high is too high.
There is a simple fix to this since the problem is related to another inherent R3 problem ....
Increase the power to the headlights.
They are fairly dim lights because of the ignition switch resistance, the headlight relay modification gets full 12V potential to the lights making them a brighter white and having a larger focus pattern. You can see the low power problem in the yellow tint visible when looking into the lights from several feet away.

I added lights low on the bike under the radiator to fill in the missing pattern while on low beam and that helped some. But only when I installed the Eastern Beaver Headlight Relay Bypass Harness did the visibility at night really improve. Later I added the Triumph fog light kit and with those filling in even more of the missing pattern, my night time visibility is excellent.

HellFire your comment about high beam being too high or low beam being too low is exactly what I am experiencing, may be I have to go to the eastern beaver relay path.

+1 on the Eastern Beaver H4 Relay Kit. It makes a huge difference.

I'm also down with the Eastern Beaver--huge improvement. Would've thought Triumph would have taken care of this relatively simple fix by the time the Roadster came out...
