Just wondering .. has anyone actually repaired a rear tyre puncture on their Rocket on the side of the road ? Know a lot of Owners carry plugs and CO2 canisters but has anyone executed a repair. Used the repair kit on other bikes but not on a 240 like on the rear. Wondering how you went replacing air once the seal had been broken between the tyre and rim ?

Plenty of other bikes, primarily off road dirt bikes and ATV's, but never the rocket. I do carry a puncture kit and a 12v compressor though

I've put a few plugs in but only once had it the bead come away. I did get it up though with a 12 volt pump and carefully rolling the bike back and forward until it sealed enough to bite. Reckon I was lucky though.

Pete just mentioned on his truck it takes a large quick burst of air to re-inflate a tyre. Not that a 240 is truck size but we were wondering if just those pissy little canisters would do the trick.

I managed to get a nail in my rear tyre and repaired it with a plug kit from Wally Mart. Fortunately I did not loose a lot of air and so I was able to top the air up at a gas station. The tyre had 5,000 miles on it when I got the puncture and the plug worked for the next 15,000 miles without a problem.

I have been wondering about those little air cylinders as well. I have some but cannot see how they would work successfully. I hope I never get to find out.
