Patrick,
I run all my pix thru Photo Shop to size and reduce the file size.
I usually use 1000 pixels horizontal, which seems to fit my screen OK.
If you wish to control the size do not use the "Thumbnail" option.
This is 1000 pixels horizontal:

I've got this site configured to reduce the height/width of uploaded/attached images to a maximum 1600 pixels. Whatever is largest, the other dimension is auto-sized accordingly. The image is then re-optimized and re-inserted into the post a few minutes later, in order to accommodate the many computers/devices out there.

There is a strategy forthcoming to do the same for inserted images from other websites, like photobucket, so that someone isn't having to download a massive image on their mobile data plan.

Sometimes smaller IS better. Just sayin'.

I went with the Corbin fairing and very pleased with it on my R3tour , the key for me was the color coding match using Cranbury and Phantom black was very good indeed and made a great looking machine.
It was so easy as well to just hook it on the bike, in fact much faster than the stock shield. Overall not cheap but satisfied here.
