Riding technique or quick starts are weird

WE use the stock Metzler on the street and DRAG STRIP and have run 8 second times they work great you dont want to leave the line at high revs 3500 to 4000 rpm and ride the clutch out keeping the front wheel down we turn the best times easing out of the hole and not spinning the tire
Do you consider the Metzler the best tire for the street?

I use them because I get them free and they work fine for me but I also use other makes on my CF 18 inch wheels on my other bike and I tell others to use the BS excedra max radial tires front and rear also the Michelin commander 2s front and rear and others like the AVON COBRAs so we do have several choices available

THATS a problem you want to keep the front down coming off the line having a big heavy tire is not going to help it will hurt your times and speeds you dont want more tire than you need thats why we run the stock METZLER we dont need any more traction
Actually it's no problem, a small lift of the front tire (2"-4") will not hurt times I don't think. You are correct about big heavy tire hurting times and speeds. But I seldom drag race on the street and never on track. I don't get free tires to trash every 4k miles so the tire works for me.

I get about 10,000 miles out of the rear tire and since you seldom race on the street and never on a track well we have lost as much as 10 MPH and 4 tenths of a second by using a car tire SO as you would expect we dont use car tires on our street or Drag strip bikes
